Michael
A. Cunha - Director, President
Mr.
Cunha graduated summa cum laude from Washington State
University with a B.S. in Psychology and from Chapman
College with a MBA in Accounting and Economics. Mr. Cunha
maintains over twenty-one years of experience in manufacturing,
accounting, and finance and senior management. Mr. Cunha
has served as Corporate Controller of Andermac, Inc.,
a medical equipment manufacturer, for eight years. While
at Andermac, under his direction the company was fully
automated and market share grew to 50% of the California
market and 25% nationwide. Mr. Cunha left Andermac and
started InterMag, Inc, a magnetic media manufacturer,
in 1991 with four other individuals. Mr. Cunha oversaw
the development of the initial contract with Iomega to
manufacturer Iomega 100 Zip disks. During his tenure,
the company grew from $0 to $72M in three years.

Maurice
C. Kemp, Ph.D. - Chief Technical Officer
Dr.
Kemp is a highly regarded research scientist with a Ph.D.
in medical microbiology with specialization in virology
and an extensive background in biochemistry. His experience
includes over twenty years in virus and biochemical research
in viral genetics, antiviral and viral pathogenesis (in
vitro and in vivo), adjuvants, immunostimulants, cytokines
and wound healing. He was a visiting Research Scientist
at the Centers for Disease Control with concentration on
the study of AIDS and respiratory viral diseases from 1980
to 1982. Dr. Kemp held the position of Assistant Professor
of Microbiology and Immunology as well as Assistant Professor
of Neurology at the University of Colorado Medical Center
from 1982-1985. From 1985-1992 he was Associate Professor
of Veterinary Microbiology at Texas A&M University.
From 1987 to 1992 he was a consultant for Carrington Laboratories
and a Senior Research Scientist for Carrington Laboratories
from 1992 to 1994. He is a co-founder of Mionix Corporation.
He has many honors and awards including Who's Who in Science
and Engineering and National Cancer Institute Fellowships.
Dr. Kemp taught several university courses in the fields
of medical microbiology and virology to medical, dental,
veterinary and nursing students at the undergraduate, graduate
and professional levels. He has numerous domestic and international
publications, abstracts and presentations and is very well
known and highly regarded for his research and development
of immunopharmacologic and antiviral products.

Kenneth
Byrd, D.V.M.
- Director of Regulatory Affairs and Plant Applications
Dr.
Byrd has a D.V.M. from Oklahoma State University, a B.S.
in Agriculture, and an A.S. in Management from Northeast
Texas Community College. He began a veterinary mixed practice
in Hugo, Oklahoma and practiced there for seven years. During
this time, the practice grew to a busy two-veterinarian
practice. Dr. Byrd left private practice and went to work
for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in meat and poultry
inspection. During this time, he had responsibility for
both antemortem and postmortem inspection of meat and poultry
animals and the correlation of dispositions by the inspectors
that he supervised. In August of 1993, he took a new position
with Pilgrim's Pride Corp. While there he had the responsibility
for developing and implementing Sanitation Standard Operating
Procedures (SSOP), and the Hazard Analysis and Critical
Control Point (HACCP) programs in the slaughter plants.
He also developed the training materials and assisted in
the implementation of the HACCP-based Inspection Models
Project (HIMP) in two chicken slaughter plants. He also
served as a liaison between the plants and USDA and as the
corporate crisis management team coordinator, had the responsibility
for implementing the Quality Management module of SAP, and
served as Pilgrim's Pride's representative on the National
Chicken Council Technical Regulatory Committee. While there,
he assisted Mionix in gaining regulatory approvals from
USDA. With 26 years of experience in regulatory issues and
meat and poultry inspection, Ken is currently involved with
regulatory issues and in assisting meat plants to implement
Mionix's technology.

David
J. Teat - Director
Mr.
Teat graduated from Wheaton College with a B.S. in Psychology
and an MBA from Indiana University. He has twenty years
of experience, including sales, marketing and several business
"start-ups." His "start-ups" involved
the identification of several business trends in the early
stage and creating opportunities related to them. Mr. Teat
also has ten years of experience in trading and managing
a wide variety of investment instruments including bonds,
equities, currencies and options.

Gordon
A. Wong, M.D. - Director
Dr.
Wong has served the Board of Directors of the Mionix Corporation
and its predecessors since 1999. He received his B.S. degree
from the University of California Berkeley and his M.D.
degree from the University of California Los Angeles School
of Medicine. Dr. Wong received his internal medicine training
at the University of Oregon School of Medicine and his specialty
training in pulmonary diseases and infectious diseases at
the University of California Davis School of Medicine. He
is a Member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America
and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians
and the American College of Physicians. He is formerly the
President of the American College of Chest Physicians, California
Chapter, and Chief of Staff at Mercy General Hospital. He
is currently the President of the Infectious Diseases Society
of Northern California and the Chairman of the Board of
Golden State Physicians Medical Group, an IPA of over 400
physicians. He is also the President and Chairman of the
Board of VORTRAN Medical Technology 1, Inc. as well as a
member of the Board of Directors of Westmed, Inc. Dr. Wong
is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California
Davis School of Medicine and was named as one of the city's
Top Docs by Sacramento Magazine. He has an active consulting
practice in pulmonary, infectious diseases and critical
care medicine.

Frank
Parcell - Director
Mr.
Parcell is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area who started
in business in 1977 by creating a plumbing distribution
business named Plumbing N' Things. He purchased Penn Supply,
a pipe, valve and fitting distributor in 1978. He then started
Decorative Plumbing Distributors in 1995 and sold Penn Supply
in 1995 to Familian Corporation. He sold Decorative Plumbing
Distributors to an employee in 1998 and sold Plumbing N'
Things in 2003 to Slakey Brothers. He is currently consulting
for Slakey Brothers and is owner of Parcell Properties,
LLC, a real estate management company. Mr. Parcell is currently
on the Sequoia Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and
is a member of their finance committee.

Kenneth
A. Epstein -
Consultant, and Corporate Advisory Board
Ken
Epstein holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University
of Rhode Island, and an MBA in International Finance from
the University of Michigan. He brings to Mionix more than
20 years of investment banking and venture management experience,
including P&L responsibility for both major business
units and startups. His diverse client bases are comprised
of private and family-owned businesses, strategic equity
investors, large corporate venture funds, and material,
high-tech and life science firms. Mr. Epstein started his
global, multi-functional career with the Dow Chemical Company.
He spent the majority of his Dow career (US, Singapore,
Brazil) in Dows Corporate Venture Group working with
high tech and material global companies and technologies.
He also started businesses, bought and sold small companies,
and negotiated a variety of joint ventures and strategic
alliances in North America, Europe, and Asia. Kens
transaction experience encompasses selling and buying companies,
negotiating global marketing and production alliances and
joint ventures, as well as providing advisory services for
strategic planning, acquisition and valuation. With an extensive
background in materials (plastics, chemicals, ceramics,
metals, nanotechnology), Ken also advises clients aggressively
seeking expansion opportunities into new material markets
(e.g. pharmaceutical, aerospace, semiconductor, energy,
etc.) on acquisition candidates and small companies seeking
larger global partners or exit strategies.

Dennis
Karle, Ph.D. - Research Scientist and ISO9000 Certified
Audit Manager
Dr.
Karle has a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from USC,
a B.S. in Chemistry from Fresno State, and more than fifteen
years of diverse research and development experience in
organic and polymer science, with emphasis on formulation
and coating technologies and is an Inventor on several patents
relating to organic chemistry, polymer science and magnetic
media formulations. He has held positions at several corporations
ranging from laboratory chemist to Director of Research
and Development and is currently active in the fields of
coating formulations, coating technology, environmental
science and ISO 9000 compliance. Dr. Karle performs his
services as a consultant to Mionix, in the capacity of an
independent contractor. |
